How to Paint Like a Pro

Are you ready to change the look of your home? Here are a few tips!

Do you know how to paint like a pro? With these tips from experts at Behr and Benjamin Moore over on DIY Network, you will be in no time.

Cover everything you're not painting. While it may take some time up front, covering floors, furniture, hardware and other items to protect them from paint will be well worth it when a wayward splatter makes its way to a valuable.

Remove light switch and outlet covers. Just do it. It will make the lines much more clean and crisp.

Use primer.

This will help your paint have a smooth texture and reflect color accurately.

Use high-quality brushes, roller covers, and painter’s tape. These simple tools can really make the difference. You want good coverage with your rollers so you're not having to go over the same spot again and again. And, good tape will help seal out drips.

Paint during dry weather. Dry weather helps prevent dripping and slow drying. So if you can avoid a rainy day, do so.

Paint from top to bottom. Take care of the edges at the ceiling and baseboard using a brush, then use your roller to paint from the ceiling downward.
