Ask Your Home Inspector These 3 Questions

If you are getting a home inspection for the first time, it's likely you'll have some questions. How much will it cost? What time will it take place? Are there any major issues?

These questions are all important, but there are three specific ones you'll want to be sure you ask your home inspection - before, during and after the inspection.

1. Before the inspection - "What do you check?"

Confirm that your home inspector is checking all the major components of your home, including the structure, roof, electrical system, heating and cooling equipment, plumbing and more. Kanawha Valley Engineering & Home Inspections covers all of these components and more.

2. During the inspection - "What does that mean?"

There may be terms or materials that you are unfamiliar with. Feel free to ask for more information from your home inspector to make sure you understand the issue and why it may be important.

3. After the inspection - "I don't understand XYZ, can you clarify?"

Once you receive your report, you'll have a comprehensive list of issues and concerns regarding your home. There should be photos and more detailed information. Read through the report and ask questions for anything that you don't remember or need clarification on.

What other questions are important to ask during home inspections?
